Each season has 22 episodes except the third one that has only 16 because in that seaon a dispute of the Writers Guild of America took place and led the writers of Spn to a strike.

I'm sure you'll urgently want to see what happens next in season 6 so there is absolutely no chance for you to stay on season 5 only If you watch at least the first two seasons of Spn then you become addicted and you cannot quit following the show..
