I'm in a grungy mood today http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXXXmp--QIY&feature=fvw great band great song. For those who aren't into the music, I would just recommend watching the vid. Its so weird bordering on creepy

I might dwnload it, see what its like. But I never have time to watch films nowadays. I got Inception for Xmas...still haven't watched it yet. I haven't played a PS3 game for months.

I have heard good things. Seems to have had good reviews. I don't think its gonna be up there with the recent Batman films but then again, I think it has a bit more comedy in it so its hard to compare.

Sonisphere may be on the cards...Big 4 and all that. But I would only really be up for a day ticket, which is unlikely as Sonisphere will always try and drain your wallet for a weekend ticket, don't care about Slipknot or Biffy Clyro. Other than that High Voltage may also be an option. Judas Priests last UK show ever and Dream Theater headlining, can't be bad. I'll just wait and see how my money goes, coz it ain't cheap. I had a gig filled 2010 so theres a tumbleweed swirling around my wallet

I think a question that springs from this is that Are there bands out there who should have split up. Imo, Guns n'Roses should have called it a day long ago. Axl Rose is a complete joke nowadays. But bands like Scorpions and Judas Priest are calling it quits at just the right time for me.

I think two of the most talented drummers around are Mike Portnoy (formerly of Dream Theater) and Joey Jordsion of Slipknot. Both amazing drummers

I came across this site not long ago and thought I would share. Its called Rock Radio 1 and it has a supurb playlist of classic rock and heavy metal from the last 40 years. All the greats get regular plays. Finally I have found a station that caters my needs. Listening to a bit of Priest as I type Check it out Rock Radio

You should still be able to listen without signing up. The only thing signing up gives you is a list of upcoming songs so you can whats coming up. Kinda takes away the surprise. Just click one of the media player icons at the top of the page and it will download a file called 'listen'. Open that and your media player will open with the radio playing.

In the last decade is a tricky one because my tastes are for music prior to that. I would probably say either Trivium or Alter Bridge. Both of whom have come onto the scene in the last decade and between them have produced 7 amazing albums. Both great bands.

Has a script ever really mattered to Sam Jackson...he'll act in anything. I'm not saying he's a bad actor, far from it, but he has been in loads of films. Good on him I guess. Supply and demand
-
I have signed up but I don't know why, you can still play the station. Unless you wanna see what has been played that day and what songs are coming up then theres little point. I have it on all the time now. I'm getting into new bands because of it. I'll hear a track and think hmmm...sounds good, I'll listen to more of them. Always willing to expand my catalogue.

I gave The Other Guys a miss due to my dislike of Will Ferrell. I just don't think that guy has ever been funny
-
Yeah I tend to agree with the above statement. In my honest opinion I think manufactured pop music is destroying the industry and brainwashing so many people into believing that they are listening to good music. I'm of the view that even mediocre rock musicians have twice as much talent as some of the highest profile pop stars.

Good to see you back mate
-
Okay, this is the idea. You name your ideal band made up from members of other bands. Mine would probably look something like this Ronnie James Dio (vocals) Dave Mustaine (Lead Guitar) Cliff Burton (Bass Guitar) Tony Iommi (Rhythm Guitar) Mike Portnoy (Drums)
-
I have always liked Joey Jordison of Slipknot. He is really talented but other than that I guess people like Nicko McBrain and Neil Peart would both be great choices
-
Well Dio is dead too sadly but of all time, both he and Cliff would be in. If I was to replace them with living musicians, then I would probably have Geddy Lee on bass and Myles Kennedy lead vocals
-
Yeah, Hysteria and Pyromania will always be their stand out albums for me
-
They are a classic band. I'm a particular fan of their ballads rather than their upbeat songs Love Bites Heaven Is Armageddon It Hysteria Action and Animal are also up there with my favourites They are a band that sum up that 80's rock sound. And to do it with a one armed drummer is pretty amazing
-
My favourite songs would have to be Fat Bottomed Girls, followed closely by I Want It All. Both really good songs. The Seven Seas of Rhye is also a catchy track. Metallica also do a very good cover of Stone Cold Crazy. But there are so many great Queen songs, its hard not to like them, no matter what kind of music you're interested in, Queen will always unite people. Freddie Mercury had so much stage presence and charisma. That is just so rare these days.
