  1. Death by ballsqueeze...I don't believe that....surely not.
  2. I seem to listen to music for hours everyday, whether its in the car, at work, on my stereo at home or on the ipod when I'm out and about. Of course a small side effect of this is that I do suffer with mild tinnitus from time to time. Despite this though, it just really puts me in a comfort zone. In fact I'm listening to music right now as I type. My philosophy has always been if you like a genre of music...why stick to one band? That would be too easy right? There are hundreds of bands out there that could play something you might absolutely love, so I make it my challenge to find them if I can. That can mean listening to a lot of poor albums, but for every ten you listen to, you may find a keeper and discover a band you become a big fan of. Btw Bill, out of interest, are we talking old Metallica here or post Black Album?
  3. My music tastes center around metal. I like various bands that cover lots of different types of metal: thrash, progressive, death, groove, stoner, sludge, power and speed metal. As well as classic NWOBHM stuff. I can listen to prog rock and love heavy grunge too, especially Alice in Chains. My taste can be quite diverse as I can be listening to Porcupine Tree one day and then move onto Slayer the next. But overall I like my music to be complex and technical which is why I favour bands such as Opeth, Tool and Gojira for that extra brutal edge. I know that people look at those bands and are completely put off by their music (vocals mainly) and so for the most part, I get completely outnumbered in my music tastes. But I feel pretty lucky to be able to experience this level of music and enjoy it. Music is a massive part of my life and I know I may not get many fans saying this on a footy forum but my liking of football doesn't come within a million miles of my love of music. Occasionally I will take in some instrumental guitar music with my preferences being Joe Satriani or John Petrucci. If I have a guilty pleasure in music it would be my liking of Dragonforce, whose lyrics are so cheesy its unreal but their music can lift your mood a bit and they are very talented. But 9 times out of 10 I will go for something gloomy and melancholic haha. ...and I hate indie music. If there was a stronger word than hate I would use it. I don't begrudge anyone for liking it but I have a raw hatred for it.
  4. I honestly think Goldeneye is the best FPS I have ever played. I was a big fan of the film too though so that helped. It was a game way ahead of its time. Double Dash was what I played too. Multiplayer shine thief was good for a laugh or two. One console that hasn't been mentioned but that I did play on was a Dreamcast. I remember a game called Toy Commander which was enjoyable. Apart from that though it was a bit dull in terms of games.
  5. Did you not like Goldeneye? Were you never tempted to try a Gamecube? Another joke of a controller but MK was so much fun on that. A friend of mine had one, Resident Evil 4 was kinda cool too.
  6. Woah...she's a beauty...but I agree with you about the 64 controller, it was a mess and a real bitch to hold. I bought myself a controller that had a similar layout to a PS controller Still looks a bit awkward I know but it was an awesome controller made it a lot easier. I think the PS1 had more variety of games definitely but games like Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and Mario Kart really made my childhood that much more enjoyable
  7. Well now you've posted Bill I can feel more at ease. We used to have an Amiga in our house when I was younger, which was more of a computer than a console but it had some cool games for it. From there I had a Sega Megadrive, Playstation 1, N64, PS2, PS3 And out of all those the N64 has given me the most enjoyment.
  8. Can PM you a link for the album if you like mate. Downloaded a leak last night but haven't had a listen as of yet as I'm working atm. I think the video is stunning. What I think they should do is videos like that for every song on the album and release a DVD. Despite the disturbing nature of the video, it just looks so... 'Storm Corrosion' haha! Its perfect for them.
  9. You won't regret getting this. Its a very enjoyable game. Rockstar always tell a very good story and the environment is just so vivid and alive. I personally enjoyed this a lot more than GTA IV.
  10. I watched Kick Ass tonight with a mate..very good for a few laughs 8/10
  11. Ah!!! you beat me to it man!! In terms of mood it was kinda what I expected. Very morbid and atmospheric, its definitely going to take a few listens for me. The video was mesmeric though, couldn't take my eyes off it despite the very dark story it told. Extremely well made and compliments the music so well and vice versa. Whether I will pre order on the basis of this one song...too early to say for me I think..like I say I will give it a few more listens. This sort of music requires patience. I mean, I worship Opeth and I love Porcupine Tree but this is something totally different and to be honest I found myself more in awe of the video than the music What did you think of it mate?
  12. I don't really know what to expect. The direction that Opeth took on Heritage was pretty drastic but likeable nonetheless...I would love to think that this will be a heavy album but I think it will be anything but tbh. If they've both said its going to sound completely new then its hard to imagine what it will sound like....might end up sounding like a jazz record haha. ...but at present I'm back into Fear of a Blank Planet so I'm kinda excited too. Did you manage to catch the Opeth/Mastodon/Ghost tour mate? They did play a date in NY. Would be cool to see all of them in one night. As well as Fear of a Blank Planet, I've got Leviathan rocking in the car.
  13. Thats supposed to be pretty cool. Like Resident Evil in the old west.
  14. Still no leaks or pre releases on that though sadly. I wanna hear a preview. Apparently they have both said that its going to be completely different to anything either of them have done before..should be interesting.
  15. Some nice choices there mate. Looking at your DT choices... I think your're gonna love them. One track aside, your choices are either from Images and Words or Train of Thought, and both of those albums are at two ends of a scale for DT. Train of Thought being the much heavier album and Images much more lighter and proggy. So you've covered the two extremes of DT in my opinion, everything else is somewhere in between that, and amazingly good. I won't recommend a specific album because no matter what you listen to, they are all very good albums and your're in for a treat. I know how hard it can be to pick your favourite songs...though I would always stick Dialectic Chaos in my Megadeth list...awesome guitar duelling.
  16. Big into Sabbath myself, Master of Reality is their best for me...just for Children of the Grave...but I think I'd rank Wheels of Confusion or Into the Void as my favourite track of theirs. What about you? Anyone of you guys heard Ghost? I have recently taken in their debut, and only album. If your a fan of Sabbath (early Sabbath) you may find something you like in them. Their sound is like early Sabbath/Deep Purple mixed with Blue Oyster Cult. They have a very 'retro' sound. Their album, although released last year sounds like it could have been released in the 70's. Their lyrics are a bit tongue in cheek (very satanic) but I found them to be a very enjoyable band to listen to. They are currently on tour with Mastodon and Opeth so thats how I got onto them. Also big into Gojira atm...they are such a brutal and heavy band... they've produced some awesome stuff. They are blowing my head off and I'm loving it haha. Also great to see you back Croatian, I've missed this thread. btw @Invisible..myself and Croatian have already done it. It'd be great to get some top 5's from yourself.. I'd be really interested to see what you rank as your favourite DT and Megadeth and Metallica stuff....albums and songs.
  17. Haven'y played it for a long long time...or any games for that matter. But it was awesome. Did you get the Undead Nightmare expansion? If so what was that like?
  18. Woah, I had no idea Mustaine produced an album of theirs! You learn something everyday I think I likened them to Symphony X based on that song alone. I will definitely have a listen to the albums you suggested. I know your a fan of Priest too right?... What other bands do you consider your favourites or are listening to at the moment.
  19. Indeed..awesome to see you back man...I know you like your heavy music so it'd be great to get this thread up and running again. I have heard some Nevermore but not a lot. I know Chris Broderick of Megadeth was with them for a while, so I'll give 'em a try. Is there any album you'd recommend above the rest? A good starter album I like the track you've posted btw...one question...are you a fan of Symphony X by any chance? I don't deny Nevermore have there own style but you cannot help liken them to a band you've heard before and Symphony X came to my mind.
  20. Ghost- Death Knell
  21. Mastodon- Iron Tusk
  22. All the very best for the next year guys. We've all hung in there for the last 12 months but lets hope there are much better times to come.
  23. Gojira- Flying Whales
  24. I can't really watch the prequels anymore. They totally ruined it for me. I haven't seen the originals in years but great films. If your really into the films, u might be interested in this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eQA-C4FapQ Great show on trying to get the original cast back together. Really funny and has some good behind the scenes stories from the cast. Even better if you like Justin Lee Collins. The other parts are on youtube
  25. I've been watching Suits on and off...that could a show I could maybe get into...given time
