This is what I remember fondly...long time ago though
-
They certainly tested your reflexes thats for sure. But once you got used to the tracks and the speed, it was the best racing game ever. But I guess any game will now seem slower compared to them. But nothing beat getting chased by the cops on the Hot Pursuit PS1 version, especially with friends. Very good times.
-
Burnout Paradise was pretty cool but completely different to the other Burnout games, in that its free roam. But it looks stunning and you have a real sense of freedom. I played the demo of Hot Pursuit and it was a huge disappointment for me. I used to love the Hot Pursuit game for the PS1, addicted to it. But it just wasn't the same. It seemed slower and I don't like that in car games.
-
I can't say I'm a fan of them. I'm very bitter than Mike Portnoy left Dream Theater to tour with them.
-
There was only ever one racing game for me...and thats Burnout
-
Your more than welcome. Hope you enjoy You'd really like Liquid Tension Experiment. Instrumental group made up of Petrucci, Portnoy, Rudess and Tony Levin. They're basically Dream Theater without Labrie's vocals Symphony X are very similar to Dream Theater too yet still manage to maintain their own sound too...if that makes sense

WHAT!!!? I here that the holiday special will involve the guys travelling around India in classic British cars. Should be worth a watch, the specials are always great

I remember playing GTA Vice City years ago and on one of the radio stations was this quote: "So remember, to succeed in life, you must eliminate everything in your path, in a blind rage" "It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum...and I'm all out of gum." ..said the great Duke Nukem and one movie quote that made me chuckle was Robert de Niro in Meet the Parents "...I have nipples Greg, could you milk me?" Thats it for now..."and don't call me Shirley"

Well normally I will throw a old blanket or a sheet over the windscreen so then the ice gathers on that rather than the car. That works pretty well...when I remember to do so. Another thing I hate is that in the past, the CDs in my car have become damaged because of the temperature and condensation. I have to remember to take them out of the car at night
-
Like your style. Wish I could do this with my car. Mind you I don't need to warm it up as such...it just takes forever to scrape the ice from my windscreen

I can't even find that Craigslist Killer film on Wiki...talk about obscure

Understandable about the solos Get back to me in a year or two Have PM'd you the Metallica EP link. I'm probably going to give it a listen in the next few days. Don't really know what to expect from it. If it didn't make the cut for the final album, that implies that they may not great tracks but you never know. Have got a couple of albums I want to listen to before I come to it. Planning on listening to Blood Mountain and Symphony X's Iconoclast at some point. Are you a fan of Liquid Tension Experiment? Was listening to a bit of them yesterday too

Yeah its a bitch. I remember completing Red Dead Redemption and then my file corrupted. I couldn't be bothered doing all that again If you were enjoying Wigan, then try again as them. Learn from any mistakes you'd made.

Hey...I'm still baffled by it. I think you need an IQ of at least 180 to understand that film. And I too like films that make you think. I don't like to walk out of a cinema with my only memory being how big an explosion was. Have you caught Shutter Island. I really enjoyed that. Make you think buts it damn creepy at the same time
-
...and then they go and make Lulu haha They've actually released a new EP with 4 songs that didn't make the cut on Death Magnetic. I can PM you a download link if you want. I haven't had a chance to listen to them yet. Anyways man, I'm listening to a bit of Dream Theater as I type and totally spur of the moment...what are your top 3 DT solos? (oh yeah, we're going deeper ) 1.Hollow Years (The infamous performance at Budokan live)...EPIC! Why couldn't this have been on the album version 2.Peruvian Skies..Does Petrucci actually make the guitar cry? haha 3.The Best of Times Outro *Number 3 subject to change

San Francisco is a bit far for me. If I had the money to pay for their extortionate fan club then who knows? But yeah, one hell of a show. Metallica eh?...I think this is a tad easier than the last few bands, for me anyway Albums 1...And Justice For All 2. Ride the Lightning 3. Master of Puppets 4. Kill 'em All 5. The Black Album Fair to say I prefer old Metallica. Though I did really like Death Magnetic Songs (always harder) 1. Ride the Lightning 2. Blackened 3. The Frayed Ends of Sanity 4. Orion 5. Disposable Heroes and yourself?

My Dad is a massive fan of Rush. Has been since they started up. They've never really been heavy enough for me though. Great band..legendary but just not entirely to my taste. I think my first taste of heavy metal would've been either Enter Sandman or One. That damn riff well and truly got me hooked. Have had a think...a long one. Albums 1.Rust in Peace 2.Peace Sells...But Who's Buying? 3.Countdown to Extinction 4.Youthanasia 5.So Far, So Good..So What? Songs 1.Dialectic Chaos 2.Good Mourning/Black Friday 3. Holy Wars 4.Ashes in Your Mouth 5.Into the Lungs of Hell Crack the Skye is better than The Hunter...I've said it, and I love The Hunter. The Crack the Skye song is amazing...it has that hint of melody but doesn't go overboard on it, perfect. And The Czar...there are no words, after a few listens its definitely up there with the best prog tracks I've heard. I can understand the hype behind this album. Also check out this pic...did you honestly think you would ever see this...and it isn't photoshopped Was a special Metallica fan club event in San Francisco. They played 4 nights with special guests. The words 'Once in a lifetime' come to mind. I'm pretty sure they even played Anesthesia...WOW! What a show that must have been. Apparently Mustaine was ripping through the Kill em'All material. Metal Militia, Jump in the Fire and Phantom Lord...solos and all.

Yeah I know what you mean about the emo/scene thing...I did kinda get that vibe...a kind of Trivium/Bullet for my Valentine kinda vibe (no thanks!) Dubstep and all that dance shit isn't even music...its just sound effects on a loop I got into metal at a young age too. I remember whenever I was out in the car with my Dad, we would always play Metallica's Black Album...so I guess it was Enter Sandman that got me into metal. From there my Dad gave me a cassette (yeah you heard right ) of Rust in Peace and Countdown to Extinction and I was hooked. Whilst on the topic of Megadeth...top 5 songs and albums...I know it never gets easier haha
-
Yeah mate, the amount of things we've got in common is scary To meet someone who likes Opeth is very rare...but then to find that they like DT AND Megadeth (and clearly shares my issues with indie shit)...what are the odds? haha Its sad as most of my friends enjoy indie music and I just don't see the appeal. I think the festival organisers had blown their budget on the Big4 and Slipknot. Whats funny is that I think the majority of the crowd at the festival made their feelings clear to Shitty Clyro. I have been to America a few times on holiday (Florida). And I find it much better for metal than over here. I love the American record stores. They seem to have CD's that are just impossible to get in the UK (unless you get them online). I remember I got my copy of Endgame from a Hot Topic store. The guy there was totally cool...we ended up talking about Megadeth whilst he carried on serving customers, I couldn't believe it . You would never get that over here. And btw a massive thanks again for the Mastodon tip...listening to Crack the Skye as I type and my God, it sounds good...The Czar, Crack the Skye and Oblivion I am really into at the moment, awesome tracks. I feel so stupid for putting Mastodon on the backburner for so long...I've been missing out

Inception is much like Memento, takes a couple of watches to get your head around it. Dreams within dreams kinda thing messes with your mind a bit But nothing will ever shift Heat from that top spot.

Mate don't get me started...I couldn't agree with you more. Indie 'rock' music angers me no end. I don't know how popular it is in the in the US but in the UK, there are so many of them popping up and worse still...gaining popularity. Their music is simple, boring and all sounds the same. Lyrically its shit and these bands wouldn't know a solo if it smacked them around the head (not that they play solos anyway). Nowadays in the UK, you have so many of these shitty indie groups (is it me or do most of them have 'The' before their name). They release their debut albums and hit the big time and then.....NOTHING! they can't back it up because they all get 2nd album syndrome. They haven't got the talent or the longevity. One hit wonders. Last year totally angered me when I saw the lineup for the Sonisphere Festival (a heavy metal festival). Headlining on Friday...The Big 4 of thrash (awesome), on Sunday...Slipknot (not a massive fan but still a very good live metal act). Who was headlining Saturday...Biffy Clyro?!? An indie band headlining a heavy metal festival...words fail me The ones I really hate are Biffy Clyro, Kasabian, Mumford and Sons, The Klaxons, The Killers, The Vaccines, The Strokes, The Vines, The Kooks (you see what I mean about 'the') Kings of Leon...the list goes on... It annoys me when people listen to Opeth and dismiss them as a noise because of the growling vocals. I wish people would wake up and see how talented metal musicians are. Only when you hear the complexity of a Tool, Opeth, DT etc song, you realise how genius it can be. But people won't give it a chance. Anyway...rant over...for now Thanks for bringing that up man...feels good getting that off my chest. And its nice to know I'm not alone in my opinion because it feels like I am a lot of the time. Most of the time I feel completely outnumbered in my tastes in music.
