I haven't seen many films this year but I saw Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy the other week and it was pretty good. I love Gary Oldman in anything he does so I'm slightly biased

I can't recommend Prison Break enough, very addictive show and great continuous story. On the same vein (no pun intended) as True Blood, I used to be a huge fan of Supernatural.
