Thanks, I'm back after a bit of a hibernation lol Hell of a week for you indeed, I am jealous my friend but I am sure you will have a blast. You gotta make sure to tell me all about those concerts. I was soo excited to that Mastodon and Opeth are touring together!!!! Unfortunately, they are not coming to my area
-
Can't wait for Storm Corrosion (Steven Wilson + Mikael Akerfeldt) to release their first album in April!! Should be pretty epic
-
Whoa, I just came out of hibernation and decided to post something lol. I have recently been listening to Blackfield ( a Steven Wilson project) and really any Art Rock and Progressive rock bands that come up on my Last.fm radio
-
For racing games, I always enjoyed the Burnout series as well as Forza Motorsport and Project Gotham Racing.
-
Blood Mountain is another great Mastodon album. I have never really listened to either Symphony X or Liquid Tension Experiment. I can't wait to download those Metallica tracks! Thanks again for the PM
-
Yes! Please send me that download link if you can Oh wow, DT solos now? We are getting deep into this I may need a while to think for this list
-
Great Megadeth track! I've been addicted to Opeth's The Moor
-
Inception sounds pretty awesome, I like films that make you think. Once I understand Memento, I will move on to Inception

Yes I really liked Death Magnetic as well. It was refreshing to hear a good new Metallica album after they released that shite St. Anger Top 5 Albums: 1. Master of Puppets 2. Ride the Lightning 3. And Justice for All 4. The Black Album 5. Kill 'Em All Top 5 Songs: 1. Master of Puppets 2. Creeping Death 3. Battery 4. One 5. Ride the Lightning 5.

Wow that looks freakin awesome! If I could have went, it would've been the best 4 days of my life I mean I especially would like to see Mustaine playing with Metallica, that would be awesome How about your top 5 Metallica songs/albums?
-
I am a fan of Rush actually, although not heavy, they have the progressive elements that I love. Yes Crack the Skye is the better album and I think it is their best. The Czar is just a phenomenal track, the instrumentals are fantastic. As for that image you posted, for some reason i can't see it. It won't load when I click on the link

My dad liked Metallica as well and I believe Enter Sandman was the first ever Metallica song I heard. It really never gets easier! Well, here goes nothing Top 5 Megadeth Albums: 1. Peace Sells...But Who's Buying? 2. Rust in Peace 3. Countdown to Extinction 4. Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good 5. Endgame As far as songs go, I really am only certain of my top song. Nothing will ever move Peace Sells over as my top song. The other songs are subject to change someday 1. Peace Sells 2. Symphony of Destruction 3. Holy Wars...The Punishment Due 4. Hangar 18 5. Sweating Bullets

Haha yes, it is difficult to find people with similar music tastes! I love metal, it was really the first genre of music that I was really in to. I remember the first metal bands I really listened to were Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, Tool, Metallica, Opeth, and Dream Theater. I have never really have gotten the chance to speak with others outside of my state/country about my music tastes. Unfortunately, here in New York, indie is really the dominating genre of music. Plenty of indie kids are around wherever you go and unfortunately the music just takes over as well as that dupstep/electronica stuff. Again, another genre of music that just does not appeal to me. Hot Topic here is pretty nice but they unfortunately cater more to the emo/scene kids. They like that screamo/metalcore crap that is a sad excuse for metal and shouldn't even be considered metal. As for Crack the Skye, it really it full of awesome tracks. Honestly, it is my favorite Mastodon album and it was the first album of theirs that sparked my interest.

Dear God, I feel outnumbered as well. *****ing Christ, I can't go anywhere without hearing indie music or hearing about it. I really do think it is shit, I mean what hell is this crap they are pumping out? Here it is so popular and it is just annoying as all hell. I also have my music taste dismissed, I guess since it is not the current pop trend. Perhaps if Opeth or DT or bands of the like were the current trend then people would not think I have a weird/bad taste in music. I find indie music to be pretentious and I agree about he lyrics, they are garbage. And the guitar playing is lame and uninspired. Indie guitar solo? Forget about it, they play like 3 chords the whole song with some obscure/lame lyrics. I can't believe there is an indie band playing in a metal festival. Ugh, just because indie is popular doesn't make it good nor does it mean that it should be thrown into any festival. I am glad we are on the same page, it is too bad we are thousands of miles away

I love every single movie you have here, I just need to see Inception! I have heard great things about it. And yes lol, I need to watch Memento a few more times so I can wrap my head around the storyline
-
They are certainly due for a Grammy Award then. I mean this band has been consistently great over the span of 20+ years, producing fantastic albums year after year. Most bands have their prime and start produce crap (Metallica and Lou Reed - WTF is that shit?!?!). Megadeth deserves recognition for their quality
-
I just watched Memento and I have to put it in my Top 5, I would recommend watching this film if you haven't. I plan on watching it again soon My Top 5: 1. Pulp Fiction 2. Requiem for a Dream 3. SLC Punk 4. Memento 5. Fight Club
-
Ooo yes, that is a tough call to make there. I think each of those songs should get its own Grammy award EDIT: I know this is off topic, but it is something I think a fellow metal head like yourself may understand. Do you hate/dislike indie music at all? Something about it bothers me. I think it is just a current fad that is popular but I am sick of it being around.
-
The songs that stand out for me are Black Tongue, Curl of the Burl, Stargasm, Octopus Has No Friends, Bedazzled Fingernails, and The Sparrow. Honestly I could list almost every track but I think these would be the ones that stand out for me. How about yourself?
-
Ah I am on the same page as you, I enjoy the smaller venues as well. That is a fair price I would say, a Mastodon ticket here is about $35 USD which isn't far from £20 if my currency exchange skills are correct lol. I don't think Opeth has ever toured in my area but if they ever did I would jump at that opportunity any day. If Tool ever comes by you then I would strongly advise seeing them as well. Even if you haven't listened to much of their music they put on a fantastic show. One of the best shows I have ever been to in my life, the lights and visuals are epic. I agree with you about the Hunter, the tracks are unique and each have their own "heaviness" I guess I would say. Although this album didn't have any traditional longer progressive style tracks, Crack the Skye has longer tracks like The Czar and The Last Baron
-
I love Superbad, I think I have watched that movie around 10 times lol. I would give it 9/10 as well
-
Yes, Systematic Chaos is phenomenal and I agree that both of those tracks really compliment this album well. I still have to listen to Dramatic Turn of Events. I know that is their latest album and I have been meaning to get a copy of it. ..Mastodon!!! I am jealous, I unfortunately missed them this time around due to lack of funds but next time they come around I will definitely go see them! How much did your ticket cost?
-
I almost put Black Clouds and Silver Linings as my 5th choice but Systematic Chaos just beat it out for me. As far as songs go, this one was the toughest list for me and took me a while to think up. Here is my top 5 (I think ): 1. Pull Me Under 2. Strange Deja Vu 3. Panic Attack 4. Home 5. The Ministry of Lost Souls
-
I would love to see Mastodon live. If I were you I would get those tickets Ah, now for DT. Well this won't be any easier for me haha. I guess for my Top 5 albums I would choose: 1. Scenes from a Memory 2. Images and Words 3. Awake 4. Octavarium 5. Systematic Chaos Again, another difficult list but I remember the first time I listened to Scenes from a Memory and I was totally blown away. By far my favorite DT album and I don't think that will change ever.

Awesome film!! I remember watching this in high school for my English science fiction class! It was based off of a book we were reading, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. I gotta watch it again sometime soon
