It's getting harder to call anything a gaming machine anymore. Something like the Xbox 360 started out as a gaming machine. Now, it has movies, music, Netflix, Youtube, etc. Maybe I just hate simplicity, but I have an mp3 player for music, a Roku for Netflix and my pc for Youtube. I mostly wish the 'game consoles' had remained that, as I don't need them to fulfill every media based desire in my life. /rant So I guess you could just as easily classify your computer as a game machine.

Spent the afternoon hitting the malls for after Christmas sales. Sooo many people. I think there were more people shopping after Christmas than before it.

I definitely played more on the playstation. The n64 was nice but I never really did like the controller.

I just wanted to reiterate that SoccerShouts is running from a new host and will not be subject to additional downtime or the loss of any posts/registrations related to those server actions of our old host.

There really wasn't much in the way of accessories. But I also had an N64, which meant more memory cards, rumble packs, etc. I'll be happy if I never have to look at a memory card again after having a handful fail on me. Though I guess it could just as easily happen with a hard drive. Fortunately Sony and Microsoft offer a limited form of cloud storage for saves now.

Actually quite the same. I had a video game site back around that time, so I was getting all kinds of games, systems, accessories, etc. for compensation. I had 2 PS1 multitaps and didn't even have enough controllers for it. I think I ended up just giving one away.

I miss those days really. It's becoming something of a challenge anymore to find a game where a bunch of friends can just chill together and be stupid while playing a video game. Now everything multiplayer is online. And while I do play like playing some games online, there are others that I'd much rather be sitting in the room with others enjoying. That's my big gripe from this console generation, the move from local multiplayer to online.

That is good to hear. The backup server is still a bit bugged at the moment, but I should have that operational by the weekend. I will just be making manual backups until then.

The entire reason I owned a gamecube was for Mario kart double dash. Never played CTR but I would still be willing to give it a shot. How about Road Rash? I played quite a bit of that especially when I had my n64 and some friends over.

That's a shame. Here I was thinking the new Hot Pursuit might be the first race-type game I'd try again, as I have a fond remembrance of those Hot Pursuit titles from the PS1 era. I think you've been spoiled by the speed effect relative to those Burnout games.

I played quite a bit of burnout and Need for Speed. Now I just play shooters with some adventure/action-RPG on occasion.

I don't know what ever caused me to stop playing any kind of racing games. I had a fairly decent collection of them back on the Playstation 1. Sometime between that and my Xbox I just stopped. I think I have like 1 race type game on Xbox and not a single one on Xbox360.

General slowness with pages loading today resulting from the network maintenance earlier. Hopefully this is cleared up soon.

Can't say I'd want to be riding a motorcycle in freezing weather anyhow. I just go out and start my car 10-15 minutes before I'm going to leave and crank the heat up. If it doesn't melt all the ice from the windows it usually loosens it up so there isn't as much scraping to do.

I'll give that a rental soon then. There hasn't been much else exciting lately so I've mostly just been catching up on some tv seasons.

Guess I might have to give The Kings Speech another look. When I originally heard of it I blew it off because I didn't figure it would be that interesting. Craigs List Killer: never even heard of it. And based on that kind of review, I don't think I will ever bother to find out more.

Applied fix for the "Activity in my followed topics" block that appears on the main forum page. Tracked topics now link correctly to the topic instead of the board main page, and topics you were the last to post in will no longer be shown.

If I don't seem as active right now it's because I'm working in the background on a new server setup.

I am at a friends where one of the guys is playing it right now. Not a game for me though. I don't go for the deep rpgs. 90% of the time I am playing a shooter. I also occasionally play Action/adventure titles like Uncharted.
