A new skin has been available to members for a few days now, though only those who were paying attention to the status updates may have noticed. The new skin is available under the Change Theme menu at the bottom of the board and is labeled SS Dark. It is our first dark skin, and likely the only one for the foreseeable future. The default color of this skin can be changed via the paint palette icon at the top-left of the page. Note that after you pick your color you have to click the color wheel icon in the popup for it to be saved. This skin is available to all members who have made their 5 posts and are no longer in the New Members group.

That's the thing though, I'm not really looking for contrasting colors. The overall theme is dark, so having a brighter background seems to go against that.

Revising the fixed color is fine, I'm open to suggestions. Of course, the color picker will be available no matter what. No reason people shouldn't be able to customize it as they would like.

It will be great, but only if they can keep the same cast together. More often than not, as sequels continue being made to movies, cast members start to drop out and it just isn't as great as it once was. Hopefully that won't be the case here. Oh, and FYI: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1951261/

I added the new picture but it will probably take a few hours to show up live, due to content caching.

It shouldn't be a problem unless the image is huge. Allowed extensions are gif, jpg, jpeg, png, swf. Size limit is 50kb.

Is it bad that it changed recently enough that even I had to look it up? The system builds your avatar from your profile photo as they are now one in the same. When uploading a profile photo it recommends a picture at least 200px. For the avatar, it will automatically reduce that to a max width of 160px, and height will be reduced proportionately.

Given it's own thread in Account Support. Couldn't have less to do with the chat issues thread it was posted in.

We are now supporting Forum Runner for Android and iPhone/iPad devices. The Mobile Apps page has been updated with links to this application for supported devices. In addition, we continue to support Tapatalk for Android, iPhone, Windows Phone 7 and Blackberry devices. Links for these applications can also be found on the Mobile Apps page. For other devices, or for those who do not prefer to run a forum-reader app, you should see our mobile skin automatically when you visit from your mobile device.

There has been a change to the Terms of Service. This posting acts as notice of these changes. What has changed: Account Deletion policy New terms: Members are required to log in at least once every 6 months or make at least 5 posts on the forum. Accounts that do not meet these requirements will be deleted. This replaces the former requirement of logging in at least once every 3 months or making at least 2 posts. This system is now automated. Accounts will be contacted by email at the address registered with the forum at the 3 and 5 month mark with a reminder of this policy, and will receive a confirmation mailing after 6 months that the account has been removed from our systems.

Sick of being sick.

Can't say anything about Prison Break, never watched it. Doesn't seem like anything I'd watch. The only thing I've been keeping up with recently has been True Blood.

Battlefield 3 is currently the game I am looking forward to the most this year. And considering we'll have Mass Effect 3, CoD:MW3, Gears of War 3, and more that is saying quite a lot. Not to mention Uncharted 3 on Playstation. Guess this is the year of 3's huh?

For anyone missing their avatar just upload it again. There was a change between versions that was causing problems with anyone trying to change their avatar image. Syncing needed to be done, although it did cost some people who have had an avatar up for a while to lose it.

As many of you probably know, there is a nice big hurricane projected to head up along the eastern coast of the United States on Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately, our host does reside in that projected path (Clifton, New Jersey). Because of this, there is a chance that the weather could cause power or connectivity outages effecting SoccerShouts ability to remain online. Should the lights go out, we are at the mercy of work crews to get the power or connections restored. I'm hoping we don't see any problems but as usual I wanted to give a heads up so everyone knows what happened if the site disappears for a while. On a side note, our host is about 2 hours north of my location, so I'll be sitting through the same storm but just a bit sooner. Should be fun.

Felt an earthquake earlier today for the firs time in my life.

No, nothing major, I agree there. It was more surprising than anything since we don't experience them here until then.

LOTR of Potter considering the series as a whole. Matrix for the first movie alone. The sequels were weak.

Nice, but kind of big.

Sorry Luke, we were bored.

Me and Chris had a bit of fun taking away my admin and Luke's staff status as a joke that we got "hacked". All in good fun.

I have nothing to say regarding that.

Yes, custom background are great. I tried to include a bunch of various options, and you can always add your own. The smilies come up beneath the quick reply box when you click the icon now. If they aren't showing up for you, it is possible that it is a browser issue. I'm a bit out of date myself now being on Firefox 4, but I don't even have a good way to test FF2. Might want to think about upgrading if you have the possibility. FF6 just released.

It's a known bug since the handling of media has changed. Hoping to have a fix for that soon.

Just fixed a bug with the tags/tag cloud that was causing the results of searching for other threads with the same tag to come up with unrelated content. The search results are now accurate and turn up other threads with the same tags.

We have a nice new forum software running, so it seemed like the right time to launch a new skin. Introducing our newest skin, "Create". This new skin is a nice step up from our previous skins. With Create, you can do just that. SoccerShouts is your forum, so why shouldn't it represent your personal style? Along the top toolbar, you will see a little picture icon next to "View New Content." Click this, and you will see a background selector slide out with a number of different backgrounds to choose from. None of them your style? Just enter a URL to your own image and have your own unique design. Enjoy. Let me know what you think, or upload a screenshot of your custom SoccerShouts look. One word of advice: Nothing too white. Some text may be unreadable on overly white backgrounds. Also, the old skin will still be around if you really liked it. I will continue to support that skin on the site for at least the next 12 months. Just head down to the Change Theme link at the bottom of the board and select SP v1.1 for the old skin. Edit (Aug 20): Fixed a permissions issue that was keeping some groups from accessing the old skin. Should be available to all registered members with 5 or more posts now.

Want to try a cache refresh on the topics page? The width element should be defining all pages, not just the main page.
